(St. John's, NL) 5th String Entertainment and Mile One Centre are pleased to present Canadian country music greats - Terri Clark and George Canyon.
Terri Clark - Two years ago, the big story was that Terri Clark had done the unthinkable and came home. After years of being one of the biggest names in country music globally, Terri announced that she was going to focus her attention on Canada. Now, with a new outlook and her hat back on, Clark continues her personal journey with an inspiring combination of emotion and shameless joy in her newest release, "Roots and Wings".
Where does the name of the album come from? Terri says, 'I'm embracing my roots, who I am, my old friends and family, and coming full circle in my life... choosing some songs with those themes for this album.' The 'Wings' spawn from Terri's desire to rise from the ashes of a tumultuous few years.
Of course who could forget classic Terri Clark songs like, ' Easy on the Eyes', 'Better Things To Do', 'Girls Lie Too', and 'Poor Poor Pitiful Me'? Clark has enjoyed a long, successful career in country music. With the 2011 win for Female Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards, she's showing no signs of stopping.
'Roots and Wings' is available in stores now. For more information, visit www.terriclark.com
George Canyon - In 2004, Canyon's wife Jennifer persuaded him to audition for U.S.A Network's "Nashville Star". Canyon showed up, wowed the worldwide audiences and nearly won the entire contest. The rest is history punctuated by industry accolades, achievements and sustained success.
He has sold over 250,000 albums and his critically acclaimed music continues to grow with every record. In2008 multi-platinum artist and pop/rock icon Richard Marx signed on to produce Canyon's "What I Do'album. The record yielded 7 hit singles including "Just Like You". Marx and Canyon teamed up again to write and record songs for the 2011 album "Better Be Home Soon".
"When George Canyon is performing live onstage, he is most at home. He is respected and well-loved and one of the most successful entertainers in the country today.
