Summer Blast 2012 will be held at Mile One Centre Friday, August 24. Hosted by Keith Dean, J Ohh, and DJ Juice, featuring T-Pain, Far east Movement, Anjulie and DRU, it will no doubt be a night of infectious energy with high voltage music.
Since 2005, T-Pain has changed the course of music. He has expanded his creative reach as a singer-songwriter-rapper-producer. T-Pain has been awarded a Grammy, and garnered 'Songwriter of the Year' and 'Producer of the Year' honors at the BMI Urban Awards, and has also earned a BET Award. His first two albums-Rappa Ternt Sanga (2006) and Epiphany (2007) have been certified gold as a result of many hit singles within the music industry. T-Pain has collaborated with many great artists such as Kanye West, Chris Brown, Flo Rida, and Pitbull.
Far East Movement (Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman) made music history when the platinum-selling 'Like a G6' was the first #1 hit ever achieved by Asian Americans. They quickly became a success with their last album Free Wired. Their second album Dirty Bass released this month encompasses everything they've represented thus far. The connection between electronic, rap, and pop music represents an authentic all-night dance party with their first single, 'Live My Life' featuring Justin Bieber.
Singer-songwriter Anjulie grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and was raised by immigrant parents from Guyana. Anjulie grew up in a multi-cultural musical environment, listening to everything from Afro-Caribbean calypso, reggae, and South American Latin music, to the pop and rock culture emanating from her Canadian surroundings. The mélange has no doubt influenced Anjulie's debut-Brand New Chick.
R&B, Soul, Dance, Pop singer-songwriter DRU, released his first album, The One, in 2008. In 2011, he released his second album, The Brink featuring his latest single, 'Getting It In.' DRU has been identified by Billboard Magazine as one of the most emerging Canadian artists, and has gained international recognition as a force in the music industry both as a performer and songwriter.
