The JUNO Awards Come Full Circle

JUNO WEEK APRIL 12-18, 2010
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and the 2010 JUNO Awards Host Committee recently announced the official dates, venues and ticketing details for JUNO Week Events converging on the City of St. John’s in April 2010.
JUNO Week will encompass seven days of music celebrations and popular events including Juno Cup, JunoFest, Juno Fan Fare and Songwriters’ Circle. The St. John’s Host Committee will also be putting its own stamp on JUNO Week with the slogan ”Ruckus on the Edge” as the theme for all its unique and exciting local festivities planned.
Ruckus of the Edge, a four-day musical festival showcasing local talent will include Random Acts of Music throughout St. John’s, “Ruckus in the Round” song writers’ circle, themed music nights, and a Ruckus on the Edge Theme Song Contest. In addition, the Host Committee is developing an engaging program of performances and workshops for students in grades 7 to 9 in schools throughout the province.
Other major news announcements were made, including 18-time JUNO Award winner Bryan Adams as the recipient of the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award and that Ross Reynolds, former Chairman and Founding Director of CARAS, will receive the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award.
JUNO Week takes place April 12-18, 2010, culminating in the live broadcast of THE 2010 JUNO AWARDS, Sunday, April 18, on CTV. Tickets for THE 2010 JUNO AWARDS broadcast at Mile One Centre go on sale Saturday, March 6 at 12 noon. Tickets are $189 plus HST and surcharge.
